eBay Product Research Tutorial
Goal: Learn how to use ZIK Analytics to find high-demand, profitable eBay products using accurate sales data and smart filters.
This tutorial walks you through how to research products, analyze seller performance, and find winning items to list — all inside ZIK's Product Research Tool.
✅ Insight: Using real-time eBay data helps you make data-driven product decisions and avoid guesswork.
1. Access the Product Research Tool
Goal: Start your research efficiently with the right marketplace setup.
Click on the magnifying glass icon on the left-hand side — this opens the Product Research Tool.
Choose your marketplace, such as eBay.com, and set your shipping location (e.g., United States or China).
You can also adjust your sales date range — typically the last 30 days for best accuracy. Other options include 21, 14, or 7 days for shorter-term trends.
✅ Tip: A 30-day view gives a clearer picture of consistent product performance.
2. Apply Advanced Filters
Goal: Refine your search to focus on relevant and profitable products.
Here are key filters to use:
- Price Range: Set your target profit bracket.
- Feedback: Filter sellers with strong ratings.
- Exclude Phrases: Remove unwanted results (e.g., search “smartphone” but exclude “iPhone”).
- Listing Type: Choose between Auction, Fixed Price, or All Listings.
- Condition: Filter New or Used items.
Example: Search for “Dog Gate” in the United States, then click Search.
3. Analyze Product Performance
Goal: Understand demand, competition, and opportunity level.
You’ll see key statistics:
- Sell-Through Rate (STR): Indicates how well items are selling.
- Total Listings & Sold Items: Shows overall competition.
- Sales Earnings & Average Price: Reveals potential profit margins.
- Successful Listings: The % of sellers who made at least one sale.
✅ Pro Tip: A sell-through rate above 50% signals strong buyer demand.
4. Visualize Data
Goal: Quickly identify sales patterns and market share.
You’ll see:
- Pie Chart: Displays top-performing sellers and their market share.
- Sales Graph: Shows day-to-day sales activity for the last 30 days.
5. Analyze Competitors
Goal: Discover who’s selling successfully and what products drive their profits.
Scroll down to see competitor details — including seller location, store name, and feedback.
Click Scan Seller to open a full performance analysis:
- Seller’s Top Products
- Total Sales
- Feedback & Ratings
- Revenue Overview
✅ Tip: Focus on competitors who consistently appear across multiple niches — they often reveal strong product strategies.
6. Find Supplier Sources
Goal: Locate identical or similar items for sourcing.
Use the Item Finder icon next to each product to automatically locate it on AliExpress (or another supplier).
You’ll instantly see:
- Product Image
- Supplier Title
- Supplier Price
- Profit Margin
If the product looks promising, select a folder and click Save to Folder for easy access later.
✅ Pro Tip: Always check product ratings and delivery times before sourcing.
7. Scan Products & Refine Results
Goal: Deepen your research and focus on verified dropshippers.
Use these filters:
- Dropshippers Only – show sellers using dropshipping models.
- Exclude Vero Items – ensure your listings follow eBay’s verified rights policy.
Example: A seller from Hong Kong sold 35 items in the last 30 days and 918 items lifetime, all shipped from the U.S. — a strong dropshipping signal.
